Violations & Fines
Flying a drone outside a posted or designated area, or outside an approved recreation program, is a misdemeanor under Section 12.48.125(A): a fine of not more than $1,000.00, imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than six months, or both. The Trial Court may instead reduce the charge to an infraction under Section 1.08.010, punished by a fine of up to $100.00 for a first violation, $200.00 for a second within a year, and $500.00 for each further violation within that year. The Director or a designee may also eject a violator from the park facility on the spot under Section 12.48.125(C), and any police officer, animal control officer, park ranger or code enforcement officer may enforce the section under Section 1.08.010.
