Euless, TX Drone Rules: Recreational Drones (2026)

Recreational drone operation in Euless is complicated by the city's unique airspace situation. Euless sits directly adjacent to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and lies entirely within DFW's Class B controlled airspace, extending from the surface up to 10,000 feet over portions of the city. Under FAA rules, all drone flights in Class B surface-level airspace require prior authorization through the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) system or via the DroneZone portal for operations at or below posted ceiling altitudes. In most of Euless, the published LAANC ceiling is zero feet, meaning no drone flight is authorized without case-by-case approval. Recreational flyers must also pass the TRUST (The Recreational UAS Safety Test), register any drone weighing more than 0.55 pounds with the FAA, and fly under a Community-Based Organization safety code.
