Nampa, ID Environmental Rules: Erosion Control (2026)

Under Nampa City Code § 9-6-4-1, it is unlawful to perform any construction or land-disturbing activity within city limits without first obtaining a site development and/or erosion and sediment control permit from the Nampa Public Works Department. Sites disturbing one acre or more must have an approved erosion and sediment control plan before a permit issues (§ 9-6-4.A). Applicants post a cash bond or letter of credit covering improvement, landscaping and repair costs (§ 9-6-4.F), and Public Works may inspect work and revoke a permit for uncorrected violations (§§ 9-6-4-5, 9-6-4-9). No permit is required for emergency work necessary to protect life or property, but Public Works must be notified within 24 hours.
