Summary

These county ordinances apply to unincorporated areas of Yuba County. Incorporated cities within the county may have their own rules that take precedence over county-level regulations.

Chapter 10.30 defines Design Flood Elevation as the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) plus freeboard, and sets that freeboard at one foot for AE, AH, and A1-30 zones: new construction and substantial improvements of residential structures must have the lowest floor, including any basement, elevated at least one foot above the BFE. In an AO zone, elevation is one foot above the FIRM's depth number, or three feet above adjacent grade if no depth number is specified.
