Mansfield, TX Environmental Rules: Stormwater Management (2026)

Mansfield holds a Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit administered by TCEQ. The city enforces a Stormwater Management Program including illicit discharge prohibition, construction site runoff control, and post-construction stormwater quality standards. Construction activities disturbing 1 or more acres must obtain TCEQ general permit coverage TXR150000 and develop a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan with silt fencing, inlet protection, and stabilized construction entrances. Smaller sites still must prevent sediment from leaving the property under Mansfield ordinance. Non-stormwater discharges to the MS4, such as pool draining, concrete washout, vehicle washing runoff, and landscape chemicals, are prohibited unless specifically allowed.
