Pompano Beach Zoning Code Β§155.5302 sets residential fence heights at 4 feet in front yards, 6 feet in interior side/rear yards. Street side yards allow 6 feet if set back 4 feet from the lot line. Waterway-adjacent lots have special transparency rules.
Zoning Code Β§155.5302 regulates fence location, height, and appearance. Residential districts: front yard max 4 feet; interior side and rear yard max 6 feet; street side yard up to 6 feet if set back at least 4 feet from the street side lot line. Fence posts with decorative finials may extend 6 inches above the maximum. On through lots, the primary entrance yard is limited to 4 feet as determined by the Development Services Director. Waterway-adjacent rear lots: fences may be 42 inches if 66% see-through, or up to 6 feet with additional transparency requirements. No fence or wall may be erected atop a seawall. Combined height of fence on wall/berm cannot exceed standalone maximum.
Fences exceeding height limits receive a notice to comply with a 30-day correction deadline. Failure to comply carries fines of $50β$200 per day until the fence is brought into compliance.
