Under UDO §230-20.1, residential districts prohibit barbed wire, razor ribbon, concertina, and any electrified fencing. Agricultural zones (RA-200 with 5+ acres) may use barbed wire for livestock. Industrial districts (M-1, M-2) allow barbed-wire tops on security fencing, provided the barbs begin at least 6 ft above grade. Chain-link with top rail allowed; slats optional. Any plywood, oriented-strand board, corrugated or sheet metal panels, or salvaged materials used as permanent fencing are explicitly prohibited. Temporary construction fencing is allowed only during active permitted work.
