The design must allow visibility between or through fence elements above 18 inches in height β portions at 18 inches and below may be opaque or solid, while elements above must be spaced no closer than 4 inches apart with each member no wider than 4 inches. Side and rear yard fences have more flexible material options and may be solid/opaque. Barbed wire and razor wire are prohibited in residential zones. All fence materials must be maintained in good condition per the property maintenance code.
