PBC Building Division issues fence permits via the ePZB online portal. Wood, vinyl and aluminum fences must meet Florida Building Code wind load requirements (typically 170 mph design wind speed for coastal eastern PBC, 160 mph inland). Hurricane straps and concrete-set posts are standard. CMU walls require structural engineering and may need a separate Engineering Department review. HOA approval is generally required before applying for the county permit.
Unpermitted fence: $250 to $500 plus retroactive permit (double fee). Removal may be ordered by Special Magistrate.
