Euless, TX Fire Regulations: Fire Pit Rules (2026)

The City of Euless regulates residential fire pits under the locally adopted International Fire Code, enforced by the Euless Fire Department Fire Marshal. Recreational fires in portable fire pits or built-in pits are allowed on private property when the fuel pile does not exceed 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height, consistent with IFC Section 307.4. The pit must be located a minimum of 25 feet from any structure, deck, fence, or combustible material, and a garden hose or fire extinguisher rated 4A minimum must be within reach. Only clean, seasoned firewood, manufactured fire logs, or charcoal may be burned. Rubbish, leaves, construction debris, treated lumber, painted wood, and household trash are prohibited. A competent adult must attend the fire continuously until it is fully extinguished. During Tarrant County burn bans issued by the County Fire Marshal, open-flame recreational fires are prohibited outright even in approved pits. Chiminea and ceramic-bowl style pits are treated the same as open pits for clearance purposes. Excessive smoke or complaints from neighbors can trigger a nuisance citation.
