Recreational fire pits in Isleton must be under 3 feet diameter, at least 15 feet from structures and property lines, and burn only clean, seasoned wood. No burning on Spare the Air days.
California Fire Code Section 307 governs recreational fires in Isleton. Fire pits must be no larger than 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height, set back at least 15 feet from structures, fences, and property lines, and attended at all times with water or an extinguisher available. Only clean seasoned cordwood may be burned; trash, yard waste, and construction debris are prohibited. SMAQMD Spare the Air Alert days (typically November through February) prohibit wood burning under Rule 421. Propane and natural-gas fire features are exempt from most of these setbacks. CAL FIRE may suspend all open flame recreational fires during Red Flag Warnings.
