Isleton follows California Vehicle Code Section 22651(k) 72-hour consecutive parking limit. No parking meters exist anywhere in the tiny Delta city. Most streets allow free parking with few restrictions outside of marked fire lanes and the levee-top roadway along the Sacramento River.
As a city of under 800 people, Isleton has never installed parking meters and maintains abundant free parking throughout the historic downtown on Main Street and Second Street. CVC 22651(k) allows any vehicle parked in one spot for more than 72 consecutive hours to be cited and towed. The annual Crawdad Festival in June brings heavy visitor traffic and the city implements temporary event parking plans with shuttle service from off-site lots. Parking on top of levee roads is prohibited under the Delta Reform Act and California Public Resources Code Sections 8710 and following because of levee integrity concerns. Street sweeping occurs monthly and posted no-parking signs are enforced during sweep hours.
72-hour violation: towing plus approximately 75 dollar citation. Fire lane violation: 100 dollars. Levee road parking: 250 dollars and immediate tow.
