In unincorporated Arapahoe County, fireworks that are legal in Colorado are permitted until the end of the day on July 5th. Colorado law CRS 12-28-101 bans all aerial consumer fireworks including bottle rockets, Roman candles, and firecrackers statewide. Only ground-based items like sparklers, fountains, and ground spinners are legal. During Stage 1 or Stage 2 burn bans, all fireworks including legal ground-based items are prohibited. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office enforces fireworks violations along with local fire districts and code officials. Fireworks rules apply to unincorporated Arapahoe County, Centennial, Foxfield, Deer Trail, and Bennett south of the county line.
First offense $500 fine, second offense $750, third and subsequent offenses $1,000. Illegal fireworks possession is a Class 2 misdemeanor under state law.
