Prohibited fireworks include sky rockets, bottle rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, and any aerial device. Legal fireworks may only be purchased and used during approved periods around July 4th (typically June 23–July 6) and New Year's Eve. Salem enforces state fireworks laws through its Police and Fire departments. The city may impose additional restrictions during dry conditions.
