Oregon law (ORS 480.110-480.165) regulates fireworks. Legal consumer fireworks include fountains, ground spinners, sparklers, smoke devices, and snakes. Prohibited fireworks include sky rockets, bottle rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, and any aerial device. Legal fireworks may only be purchased and used during approved periods around July 4th (typically June 23βJuly 6) and New Year's Eve. Salem enforces state fireworks laws through its Police and Fire departments. The city may impose additional restrictions during dry conditions.
Using prohibited fireworks is a Class B violation under Oregon law with fines. During fire bans, all fireworks may be prohibited.
