The City of Albuquerque Open Burn Program regulates outdoor burning to limit pollution and fire risk. Burning of dead and dry weeds and piled vegetative material is conditionally allowed between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Piles must be no larger than 3 feet in diameter and 3 feet in height, and must be at least 50 feet from any structure or combustible material. Fire must be constantly attended until extinguished. Burning must stop immediately if winds exceed 15 mph. Before burning, call the Burn/No-Burn Hotline at (505) 768-2876. If approved, notify fire dispatch at (505) 833-7390.
