Chapter 15's mobile-home-park standards set specific limits on how residents store fuel on their lots. Sec. 15-57(a) requires that liquefied petroleum gas containers installed on a mobile home lot be securely, but not permanently, fastened to prevent accidental overturning, and caps container size at not less than twenty-five nor more than one hundred pounds LP gas capacity. That range rules out both undersized cylinders that tip easily and the large bulk tanks used at fixed residences, keeping storage proportionate to a single-lot mobile home setup. Sec. 15-57(b) then bars storing or locating any LP-gas vessel inside or beneath a storage cabinet, carport, mobile home, or other structure unless the building official has approved that specific installation, closing off the most common way a resident might otherwise tuck a tank into an enclosed space where a leak could pool. Fuel oil tanks and cylinders get their own rule under Sec. 15-57(c): they must be securely fastened in place and kept at least 5 feet from any mobile home's exit, preserving a clear escape path if a tank fails.

These fuel-storage rules sit alongside the park's broader fire-protection requirements in Sec. 15-58, which require mobile home parks to stay free of litter and other flammable material, keep portable extinguishers rated for classes B and C with a UL or Factory Mutual rating of at least 6 at accessible locations, and confine open fires to stoves, approved incinerators, or equipment built for that purpose. Together, Sec. 15-57 and Sec. 15-58 form the mobile-home-park fire code, enforced through the city's mobile home park licensing and inspection process rather than a standalone permit for gas tanks.
