Ascension Parish, LA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Article XV of the Ascension Parish Code, adopted March 6, 2025, requires a food truck and trailer vendor's license to conduct business anywhere in the parish, on private property, parish-owned property, or within public rights-of-way, unless the operator is exempt under the Unified Land Development Code (section 13-205(a)). A license issued by the City of Gonzales satisfies the parish requirement under section 13-205(b), so operators who already hold a Gonzales permit do not need a separate parish license. Applications go to the Office of Planning and Development at least thirty days before operations begin, per section 13-209(a), on a combined land-use and operational form developed jointly by planning and development and the parish building department; the application is sworn and must list the vendor's name, address, principal place of business, and, for a corporation or partnership, its officers or partners.

00 fee with no cap on renewals under section 13-211, so long as the vendor stays in compliance. Section 13-206 layers on further requirements: compliance with the Unified Land Development Code's food truck use criteria at UDC section 17-2051, minimum insurance approved by the Ascension Parish Legal Department, and an executed hold-harmless agreement in a parish-approved form.
