Fort Collins, CO Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

City Code § 15-387(b) lists exact places an outdoor vendor's vehicle, cart, kiosk, table, chair, stand, box or other display device cannot sit, including upon a public sidewalk within the extended boundaries of a crosswalk, within ten feet of the extension of any building entranceway, doorway or driveway, and upon a public sidewalk within the Downtown Zone District defined in Article 2 and Article 6 of the Land Use Code, except as a concessionaire of the City. The same subsection bars siting in any location that would impede or visually obstruct vehicle or pedestrian traffic, parking lot circulation, or access to any public street, alley or sidewalk.

Subsection (i) separately requires that each licensee operating in an on-street location serve the public only from the sidewalk side and not from the street or adjacent parking spaces, reversing the usual assumption that a curbside truck serves toward the road. Subsection (e) requires licensees to pick up litter within 25 feet of their location, and subsection (g) forbids leaving any cart, structure or unattended item on a public sidewalk or in public streets or alleys for more than 15 minutes at a time. Subsection (k) caps concurrent vendors of any one specified type at two per lot, tract or parcel, and this Article governs regardless of the more specific mobile-food-truck zone limits in § 15-387(p)(1).
