YMC § 5.57.010 separately defines a "street vendor" as someone selling food or nonalcoholic beverages from a non-motorized cart or temporary structure on a sidewalk, plaza, parking lot or other public property, distinct from motorized food-truck "mobile vendors." Chapter 5.57 folds both into one licensing scheme: the business license issued under § 5.52 must be displayed prominently on the cart or temporary structure itself. Geographic limits in § 5.57.040 apply equally, carts cannot set up within 300 feet of an operating school, within 100 feet of a similar business or restaurant, or block a vehicle travel lane, and the city caps carts at two per linear block frontage.
