Frisco, TX Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Section 22-303 of the Frisco Code of Ordinances limits food truck courts and food truck temporary sites to the zoning districts where the zoning ordinance authorizes that use; a site plan or temporary certificate cannot put trucks in a district that doesn't allow them. Within an approved food truck court, § 22-313 keeps every truck at least ten feet from any permanent structure, other truck, or vehicle, requires the court itself to sit outside the property's required zoning setback lines and at least ten feet from interior property lines, and bars trucks from required parking spaces, fire lanes, easements, and drive aisles; the site plan fixes the exact location, orientation and maximum truck count.

Temporary sites carry a tighter version of the same rule under § 22-332: trucks stay ten feet from structures and other vehicles, the site must clear the front-yard setback and sit ten feet from interior lot lines, and it must also stand at least one hundred feet from any residential zoning district. A temporary site truck may not sit within twenty feet of another restaurant's outdoor seating unless that restaurant's owner consents in writing. Food truck operations on public property fall outside this article entirely when they occur during a permitted special event, a city-sponsored or city-partnered event, or parks and recreation-approved activity on parkland, per § 22-304, and temporary sites and truck parking are barred from any public thoroughfare or right-of-way except during city-sponsored events approved by the special events committee under § 22-336.
