Passaic County, NJ Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Article III of the Park Property Ordinance limits not just who can vend on county park property but where and how. The ordinance specifies: "Permits shall be limited to authorized locations within the Passaic County Park System where the food concession shall be authorized to conduct business. Only portable food service operations may be permitted. The setup and breakdown of any fixed or mobile food service operations must be conducted that day. " That means a permitted vendor cannot simply park anywhere in a county park to sell food; the Parks and Recreation Department Director designates specific authorized locations, and vending outside them is not covered by the permit.

The "portable" requirement rules out permanent stands or trailers left in place, and the same-day setup/breakdown rule forecloses leaving equipment overnight even for a multi-day event.
