City Code § 31-51 lets food trucks operate on private land, but mobile operations are only allowed in Districts 1, 2 (excluding the Central Business District) and District 5, and only within T5, T6, CS, CI, D1, D2 and D3 transect zones where a food service establishment use is allowed. Trucks cannot sit in a T3 or T4-R transect zone, cannot use the public right-of-way, and District 3 bans food truck use outright. Food truck gatherings of three or more trucks are also strictly prohibited in T3 and T4-R zones. Each site needs an active certificate of use, and regular or overnight vendors need a zoning-approved site plan too.
