Mission, TX Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Under Appendix A, Section 1.56(11) of the zoning code, mobile food units and mobile food parks are conditional uses requiring a one-year conditional use permit from city council, renewable annually. Units must sit on a compacted gravel base rather than unimproved ground and stay at least one mile from another mobile food unit or park; mobile food parks must keep a half-mile from other parks and are limited to commercially zoned property. A unit cannot set up on public property or in a street right-of-way unless the city council grants specific permission, though units may operate in any district for a private event with the property owner's written consent. Each vendor also needs a business permit and a City of Mission health department permit, with grease traps required.
