Palm Beach Gardens, FL Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Section 78-196 zones mobile food trucks away from most public and residential land. Class I Mobile Kitchens cannot sell alcohol, cannot vend in a city park, city parking lot, or public right-of-way unless the operator holds a special event permit, and cannot set up in a residentially zoned area or the residential portion of a mixed-use neighborhood unless the operator first obtains a no-cost special event permit from the city. Trucks also cannot operate on unimproved surfaces or abandoned business locations, cannot block on-site vehicle circulation, and cannot park in a fire lane, block a fire hydrant or ADA space, sit in a driveway aisle, or occupy a loading area.

No more than two mobile food trucks may operate on a single property at one time, again unless a no-cost special event permit allows more. Overnight parking or operation is banned in every residential and nonresidential zoning district in the city, with one carve-out: overnight parking is allowed in commercial and industrial zoning districts, including the commercial and industrial portions of PUD/PCD overlays and mixed-use development projects, as long as the truck complies with the outdoor-storage screening standard in subsection 78-394(g) or is otherwise screened from public view.

Class II Canteen Trucks parked fifteen minutes or less are exempt from all of these locational limits. Routine inspections by code enforcement, building, fire, and police officers can happen at any time to confirm a truck is where it is allowed to be.
