Chapter 63, the "Cheektowaga Bingo Licensing Law," was adopted October 21, 1985 as the town locally opted into the state's General Municipal Law Article 14-H (cited in the chapter's older text as Article 14-G) scheme; Section 63-3 requires voter approval by a majority of qualified electors at a general or special election before the chapter can become operative, and confirms it did take effect locally. Section 63-3 authorizes only an "authorized organization", defined in Section 63-2 as a bona fide religious, charitable or nonprofit organization of veterans, volunteer firefighters or similar nonprofits, to conduct bingo, and only after obtaining a license from the Town.

Section 63-4 caps any single prize at $250 and the aggregate of all prizes on one occasion at $1,000, bars anyone but a bona fide member from managing or operating the games, and bars paying remuneration for running them. Section 63-6 sets the license fee at $10 per occasion and requires the Town's fiscal officer to remit 50% of collected fees to the State Comptroller by the 30th of each month; no license may run longer than one year. Section 63-12 limits play to no more than six days per calendar month and bans alcohol where the game is held. Section 63-21 delegates day-to-day licensing to the Town Clerk and investigation/supervision authority to the Chief of Police.
