Celina, TX Garage & Yard Sales: Frequency, Duration & Permits (2026)

Under City Code § 4.04.003, a Celina property may hold no more than four garage sales in any rolling twelve-month period, and each individual sale can run no longer than three consecutive calendar days. Sales must stay on the owner's or lessee's own premises (garage, yard, porch, or patio), only used personal property may be sold, no new merchandise bought for resale, and a permit from the development services department is required at least 48 hours in advance. HOAs or, absent an HOA, six or more neighboring residents may organize a joint neighborhood sale. Nonresidential properties cannot hold garage sales at all, though they may seek a special event permit instead.
