Full Breakdown

Municipal Code § 17.60.080(A) limits garage and yard sales in R-L, R-M, R-H, and OR zone districts to no more than two sales per calendar year per property, and caps each individual sale at two consecutive days. Anything left unsold has to come off public view and go back into storage on the premises once the sale ends. The same section requires that only personal possessions be sold, nothing bought or made specifically to resell at the sale, and that the driveway, yard, or sale area be restored to its normal residential look afterward, signs included.

Violations & Fines

Holding more than two garage sales a year, running a single sale beyond two consecutive days, or leaving unsold items displayed afterward all violate § 17.60.080 and can draw code enforcement action.
