St. George, UT Garage & Yard Sales: Frequency, Duration & Permits (2026)

City Code section 3-7-5, part of the home occupations chapter, states garage, basement, yard or other similar sales "shall not be allowed more than a total of five (5) days in any calendar year and do not require a business license." The five-day count is the only timing restriction the code sets for these sales citywide: no section in any of the ten titles imposes a specific opening or closing clock-hour window on garage sales. Run sales beyond five combined days in one calendar year and the activity loses its no-license exemption, falling instead under the home occupation licensing rules in section 3-7-3.
