Section 19-18 requires a Township Clerk permit before holding any garage sale in West Bloomfield Township; the permit fee, set by Township Board resolution, includes two township-issued garage sale signs, and up to three more signs cost $5.00 each at the clerk's office. Section 19-19(a) limits every location to no more than two garage sales per calendar year, and subsection (b) caps each sale at seventy-two hours. Section 19-20 layers on content limits: no wholesale sales, no salesmen selling non-household goods, no free or pre-packaged samples, and only items actually used in the ordinary course of residential living at that home, not goods trucked in for the sale.

Joint neighborhood sales must draw from homes in the same subdivision or within 2,500 feet of the host home if there is no subdivision. Section 19-21 bars a sale from running later than a half hour after sunset or starting before 9:00 a.m., and bans traffic obstruction and excessive noise.
