Kansas has no cottage food act. The Department of Agriculture instead exempts direct-to-consumer sales of foods needing no temperature control or specialized processing: cookies, breads, cakes, cinnamon rolls, fruit pies, fresh produce, nuts, honey, and traditional jams and jellies. Cream pies, cheesecake, custards, jerky, pickles, and other home-canned goods are non-exempt and need a licensed facility. Internet sales and shipping are allowed; consignment is not.
