21 states that no sign of any type may be posted or displayed on the premises which might serve to indicate that the premises are being used as a home-based business, and extends the same ban to vehicles: no vehicle with any signs painted on it, which might serve to indicate that the premises are being used as a home-based business, shall be parked on the premises, unless that vehicle is kept inside a closed garage so it cannot be seen from the public right-of-way.

The rule reinforces the section's opening requirement that a home occupation shall not be detectible in any way from the outside of the home nor change the residential nature of the community. There is no allowance in the text for a small nameplate, a temporary sign, or a sign facing away from the street; the prohibition covers any sign of any type. A business that needs visible signage, such as a storefront sign or a lettered service vehicle parked in the driveway, cannot operate under the home-based tax receipt and must instead locate at a commercially zoned address where signage is regulated separately under the city's sign code.
