The two-square-foot sign cap sits inside the same home-based business standards that keep a home occupation secondary to the property's residential use, and it is written as the single carve-out from an otherwise complete ban on outward business appearance. That means a home business cannot add awnings, window displays, additional exterior lighting keyed to the business, or any other visible marker beyond the one permitted sign. Because the sign allowance is the only exception the code lists, Walton County Code Enforcement can treat a second sign, an oversized sign, or any other exterior sign of commercial activity, such as parked branded vehicles or outdoor product displays, as the kind of visible evidence of a home occupation the section otherwise prohibits.

The rule applies uniformly to every home-based business permitted under Sec. 00(K), regardless of which residential zoning district the home sits in, so a home business in a Rural Village lot follows the same two-square-foot sign cap as one in a Residential Preservation lot near the beach.
