Full Breakdown
Franklin County Zoning Resolution § 541.03 allows exactly one sign for a home occupation on unincorporated county land. A sign flatly affixed to the dwelling may use reflected or backlighting only; a detached sign for the same home occupation cannot be illuminated at any point. The maximum area for either type is three square feet on one side. This rule applies only outside Columbus and the county's incorporated cities and villages. Dublin, Westerville, Grove City, and similar municipalities set their own home occupation sign rules.
Violations & Fines
Erecting more than one home occupation sign, exceeding three square feet, or illuminating a detached sign violates § 541.03 and can trigger a zoning compliance order from the county Development Department.
