Floor area is capped at 400 square feet of the residence, and the use cannot push demand onto on-street parking or public/private parking fields, nor use more than two on-site parking spaces. Commercial vehicle deliveries or pickups tied to any sale of a product are barred entirely if that sale is a primary function of the occupation, and only one home occupation is allowed per residence regardless of how many household members work from home. Signage must comply with Article X's sign standards. Notably, Section 322-3's home occupation definition separately excludes certain professions outright, including veterinarian offices, animal hospices, animal boarding facilities, kennels, animal hospitals, and biological or medical testing laboratories, along with beauty parlors, tearooms, tourist homes, and real estate offices, meaning those uses cannot qualify as a home occupation in Smithtown no matter how small the operation.
