04(D)(9) sets the standards for a Home Occupation as an accessory use in unincorporated Williamson County. Up to two home occupations are allowed per single-family dwelling unit, dropping to one if a Residential Business already operates on the same parcel. Once the home occupation is approved, the operator must obtain a Business License from Williamson County where one is required. The activity must be conducted entirely inside the dwelling itself, never in an accessory building, and cannot occupy more than 25 percent of the dwelling's total square footage.

Each home occupation must be run by a resident of the home and may employ only one additional person on-site. The dwelling cannot be used as a storage facility for a business run elsewhere, and no products can be manufactured on site other than handmade arts or crafts. No activity, materials, goods, or equipment tied to the home occupation can be visible from outside the house, and only one sign is allowed, capped at two square feet. 04(D)(10), sits on the same table but is a separate, more intensive track: it requires a five-acre minimum lot, allows up to three non-resident employees, permits outdoor storage under buffering and screening conditions, and is limited to offices, personal service establishments, automobile and machinery repair, and light industrial use types.
