Plano's Environmental Waste Services Division collects residential landscape waste weekly, on the same day as trash. This is how storm-downed material is handled: landscape waste includes tree trimmings, brush, and tree trunks no greater than eight feet long. Under Section 18-13(e), tree trimmings, brush, and shrubs must be stacked in manageable piles no more than six feet long, four feet high and wide, and fifty pounds. Storm debris exceeding those limits, or large brush piles after a tornado, requires a special paid collection scheduled in advance through the division under Section 18-14(b); the division sets the fee and bills it to the customer's utility account.

Any violation of Chapter 18 is fined per subsection 1-4(a), with each day a separate offense. Oversized piles or landscape waste in non-approved bags are left uncollected by the city.
