Celina, TX Landscaping Rules: Artificial Turf (2026)

Under the residential landscape standards in Chapter 14, front and other street-visible yards must be covered in vegetation, grass, or living groundcover: artificial or synthetic turf is prohibited wherever it can be seen from a public street. Non-plant materials like stone, gravel, decorative rock, or crushed granite are capped at 30% of a residential yard and cannot form an impermeable surface. The parallel nonresidential/multifamily standard is more explicit that turf is allowed in internal, non-street-visible areas such as courtyards, patios, and sport courts.
