Delano Development Code §20.10.360.2 requires every new land-division parcel to plant at least one tree per parcel frontage prior to final building inspection, chosen from the City's approved Street Tree List.
Trees must be located at least 10 feet from driveways and any public sidewalk. Corner lots require street trees on both frontages provided sight-distance and setbacks aren't violated. Exceptions for cul-de-sac lots or where proper spacing isn't possible may be granted in writing by the Community Development Director. Trees in parking lots must form a full head on a single trunk.
Failure to plant required trees holds up final inspection and certificate of occupancy.
