Washington's RCW 17.10 requires every property owner to eradicate Class A noxious weeds and control designated Class B and listed Class C weeds. The Clark County Noxious Weed Control Board maintains the county weed list and enforces control. Controlling noxious weeds on your property is your legal responsibility.
Under RCW 17.10.140, owners must eradicate all Class A noxious weeds and control Class B and C weeds designated or listed for the county. The Clark County Noxious Weed Control Board (weed.board@clark.wa.gov, 564.397.6140) sets the local weed list and can inspect, notify, and enforce. This state-mandated duty applies countywide, including inside cities, and is separate from the 12-inch tall-grass nuisance rule.
Under RCW 17.10.170 the board sends certified-mail notice giving at least ten days to act; if the owner fails, the board may control the weeds and charge the cost as a lien on the property.
