Oklahoma City bans excessive engine and exhaust noise from delivery trucks and other motor vehicles that creates a noise disturbance under the City's noise code.

City Code § 34-4(3) makes it a violation to discharge sound-laden exhaust or let excessive sound escape from a vehicle's working parts, transmission, or engine when it produces a noise disturbance or exceeds the sound level limits. Near residential zoning, stationary sources including idling or loading trucks are capped at 55 dBA (7 a.m.-10 p.m.) and 50 dBA (10 p.m.-7 a.m.) under the Table I limits in § 34-12. Enforcement runs through the City Manager's enforcement officer, who can issue an abatement order before any court filing.
