Under Murfreesboro City Code sec. 21-106(E), construction on private property may not exceed an 80 dBA equivalent A-weighted level (LeqA) at a residential boundary. Permitted hours are 6:00 AM-8:00 PM weekdays in June, July and August; 7:00 AM-8:00 PM weekdays other months; and 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. A higher 85 dBA limit applies at commercial/industrial boundaries. Impact equipment (jackhammers, pile drivers) may run 7 AM-7 PM weekdays and 8 AM-6 PM weekends but never above 100 dBC.
