Osceola County sets tiered property-line decibel caps: general sound 55 dBA day / 45 dBA night; music 45/40 dBC; mechanical and AC equipment 50/45 dBC; multifamily interior 55/45 dBC. All measured at the real property line (§ 9-110).
Section 9-110 fixes distinct limits by source. General sound: 55 dBA from 7:00 a.m. through sunset, 45 dBA after sunset through 6:59 a.m. (a). Music/amplified sound: 45 dBC day, 40 dBC night (b). Air conditioning, mechanical, ventilating and refrigerating equipment: 50 dBC day, 45 dBC night (c). Multifamily dwellings: 55 dBC (7 a.m.-10 p.m.) or 45 dBC (10:01 p.m.-6:59 a.m.) measured in the adjacent unit's room with doors and windows closed (e). Measurements use an ANSI Type 2 sound level meter over a sampling period of at least one minute, taken at the real property line (§ 9-113).
Readings over the applicable limit at the property line are code violations enforced under chapter 7 by code enforcement officers or law enforcement, before the code enforcement board or special master.
