Osceola County, FL Noise Ordinances: Decibel Limits (2026)

Section 9-110(c) governs stationary mechanical and industrial equipment: no person may operate any air conditioning, mechanical, ventilating or refrigerating equipment, pump or similar machinery so as to exceed, beyond the property line, 50 dBC from 7:00 a.m. through sunset or 45 dBC from one minute after sunset through 6:59 a.m. Routine maintenance by public-service utilities or their contractors is exempt (§ 9-110(h)(6)), as is public-employee emergency work (h)(10). A business operator present on the premises is presumed to control equipment noise emanating from it (§ 9-114). Larger operations that cannot comply may seek a variance from the board of adjustment (§ 9-109).
