The ordinance prohibits noise that is excessive or unusually loud and disturbs the peace of the neighborhood. The 500-foot buffer around sensitive uses (hospitals, schools, churches, parks, courtrooms) provides additional protection from commercial noise sources. HVAC equipment, loading operations, and mechanical systems must not generate excessive noise levels.
Commercial noise violations are enforced by Code Enforcement at 561-393-7934. Chronic violators may face escalating fines.
