New Port Richey enforces noise limits under Chapter 14, Article II (Ordinance 2016-2091, amended by 2017-2108). Residential areas are limited to 55 dBA from 7 AM to 10 PM and 50 dBA from 10 PM to 7 AM. A 'plainly audible' standard also applies from 11 PM to 7 AM at 100 feet from the property line.
New Port Richey Code Chapter 14, Sections 14-21 through 14-25, regulates excessive noise. Sound measurements are taken at or beyond the property line of the receiving property. The 2017 amendment added a plainly audible standard allowing police to cite noise heard 100 feet from the property line between 11 PM and 7 AM without a meter reading. Non-residential areas are limited to 70 dBA during daytime hours. Exceptions include emergency vehicles, permitted special events, and parades.
