The County of Shasta (California) does not have a single fixed quiet-hours curfew in its county code. The closest thing to time-of-day noise rules is the Noise Element of the General Plan (Section 5.11, Noise), which divides the day into daytime hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the more restrictive nighttime hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. For new development that includes non-transportation noise sources, the hourly average (Leq) limit measured at the property line of a noise-sensitive use is 55 dB during the day and drops to 50 dB at night, so the Noise Element effectively treats the overnight period as the quiet window. These are land-use performance standards applied when projects are reviewed, not a household 'after 10 p.m. be quiet' rule that the public can cite for a noisy neighbor.
