Full Breakdown
Clark County Code § 13.04.080 amends International Fire Code § 308.1.4: charcoal burners and other open-flame cooking devices, including electric barbecues that produce open flames, cannot sit above the first story, run on a combustible balcony, or come within 10 feet of combustible construction. Two exceptions apply: single-family and duplex homes are exempt outright, and sprinklered buildings can install natural-gas grills on balconies only under a building permit. The rule reaches high-rise condos on the Las Vegas Strip in unincorporated Paradise and Winchester township.

Violation is a Clark County Fire Prevention Bureau code violation enforceable under Chapter 13.04's administrative citation process: up to $250 for a first offense and $500 for repeat offenses within a year, plus county costs.
