Applies to all beachfront properties from Boca Raton north to Jupiter Inlet. PBC Environmental Resources Management (ERM) enforces. FL §161.163 backs local turtle lighting ordinances.
First offense: warning plus 30-day correction. Subsequent: $500 to $1,500 per fixture per night. Knowing violation harming turtles: federal Endangered Species Act penalties up to $25,000 plus criminal charges.
