The Outdoor Lighting section of CALGreen (California Green Building Standards) also applies, requiring lighting zones and backlight-uplight-glare (BUG) ratings for outdoor fixtures.
Non-compliant lighting may result in code enforcement action by DBI or Planning Department. Excessive glare or light trespass complaints can be addressed through the nuisance provisions of the Police Code.
