New Braunfels, TX Parking Rules: Abandoned Vehicles (2026)

City Code Sec. 82-6 makes it unlawful to park, store, or leave any licensed or unlicensed motor vehicle, or vehicle parts, in a wrecked, junked, partially dismantled, inoperative, or abandoned condition on private property within city limits for more than 30 days. The only way around it: enclose the vehicle completely inside a building, or store it as part of a lawfully zoned used-car or junk area. A qualifying accumulation is also declared a public nuisance, putting removal duty on both the vehicle owner and the property owner, lessee, or occupant. There's a narrow exception for property meeting the standards of Sec. 50-89.
